Next week is National Court Reporting and Captioning Week. My parents met in court reporting school and went on to start a successful small business. Because of court reporters, we have an accurate record of the first days of our country, as our Founding Fathers drafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I’d like to thank them for their service, enabling public participation in our democracy, a cornerstone of representative government.
